03 / Check the fit

A little measuring goes a long way.

  1. Measure both feet

Use our printable foot measuring sheet and follow its instructions. For children who can stand, measure with their weight on both feet.

  2. Try on and check

Check room around the toes, width, and the opening. Fasten the strap and check that the heel stays in place. Avoid choosing an oversized pair just to grow into.

  3. Check again as they grow

Little feet change quickly. MIKI HOUSE recommends measuring about every three months and checking the fit regularly between measurements.

04 / Measure their feet

Measure little feet at home.

Use our printable sheet, or a piece of paper and a ruler. Measure both feet before choosing a size.

With a printer

Download the Letter-size measuring sheet and follow the illustrated instructions. Print settings can affect the scale, so check the sheet before measuring.

With paper and a ruler

  1. Two perpendicular lines on paper, meeting at the heel starting point

    Make a starting point

Draw two lines at a right angle on a sheet of paper. Their intersection is point A, where the heel will sit.

  2. A child standing with the heel aligned to point A on the paper

Stand and line up the foot

For a child who can stand, place the bare foot on the paper with the heel at point A and the foot aligned with the vertical line. Have them look straight ahead.

  3. A square edge aligned with the longest toe to mark point B

    Mark the longest toe

Place a square edge across the line at the longest toe and mark point B. Measure from A to B in centimeters, then repeat for the other foot.

Use the measurements with our size chart, then check the fit of the selected style. Foot length is only one part of choosing a comfortable fit.
