MIKI HOUSE x Room to Grow Charity Event

On August 24, MIKI HOUSE hosted a fundraising Kick-Off event in collaboration with Room to Grow. Room to Grow is a non profit organization that supports families raising babies through their unique three year program that provides “essential baby and toddler items, strategies and support to promote their children’s development, and connections to community resources that can meaningfully expand their support network”.

Members of the MIKI HOUSE staff have volunteered a number of times at Room to Grow’s offices in the South Bronx, but this time, we had the chance to welcome them to our store in Flushing, Queens.

The event started off with a presentation by Room to Grow to the guests, giving context to the organization’s work and history. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Maki Kano, Pediatrician and Internist, about things to be mindful of in the Back to School Season. Discussions followed on different methods of being mindful and aware of stress and anxiety depending on age, as well as good habits to form.

Lastly, there was a performance by a string quartet group from CMI, who serenaded not only the guests of the events, but wandering visitors in the mall.

The Kick-Off event started a 10 day period where a portion of proceeds from the MIKI HOUSE Store at Tangram Mall were donated to Room to Grow. We're honored to work with such a wonderful organization that supports families and local communities.
