Is Cashmere Right for Your Child?
Choose cashmere when its feel, the way you will use it and the care it needs fit your family’s routine.
Imagine when it will be worn
A special sweater can be a piece you choose for family outings, gatherings or quieter days. Before deciding, think about the layer underneath it and how often you expect to wash it.
Cashmere may appeal to you for its soft feel, but the practical decision is whether the garment fits the occasions and care routine you have in mind.
Check the garment’s composition and fit
Our Alashan Cashmere Sweater is made from 100% cashmere and is made in Japan. Look at its shape and available sizes, then check the fit over the clothing your child will actually wear underneath.
Notice room through the shoulders and arms, sleeve length and the neck opening. The material does not remove the need for those everyday fit checks.
Look at the details for your size
The 12MO and 2T sizes have shoulder fastenings. If that opening is one reason you are considering the sweater, confirm that it applies to the size you need.
For a gift, ask for the child’s current measurements or a size that fits comfortably. Avoid selecting solely from their age, especially when choosing something you hope they will wear on a particular occasion.
Make room for the care routine
The product lists cold hand washing and drying flat. Consider whether you have the time and space for that routine, and follow the garment label rather than treating it like a machine-washable sweatshirt.
If the care fits your household, compare the available colors and sizes. If another routine would be easier, use the same fit and fastening checks to choose a different everyday layer.
